Dilf    The DILF (French Language National Diploma)

This diploma will evaluate your level of skill and is provided to non French -speaking over 16 years old and beginners level A1.1 (See level chart).

The DILF evaluates the 4 skills in French language learning :

  • written expression
  • oral expression
  • reading comprehension
  • oral comprehension

See the level chart for an overview of what can be asked in these 4 skills.

The examination is 1H15 long.

To validate this diploma your grades need to be at least 50/100  for the writing test and 35/70 for the oral test.

Delfdalf    The DELF (French Language Studies Diploma)

The DELF is an official diploma delivered by the French National Department of State for Education for a life-time!

More than 300 000 diplomas are delivered every year.

The DELF exists in 5 different versions :

- The "tout public" : for big teenagers and adults    Delfdalf

- The "pro" : for the public in training or occupational integration   Delfpro

- The "Prim" : for childrens old enough to be schooled in the primary education  Delfprimbest

- The  "Junior" : for teenagers old enough to be schooled in the secondary education       Delfjunior

- The "scolaire" : for teenagers, when an agreement is made with the educational authorities of a country Delfscolaire

A grade superior or equal to 50/100 is required to obtain the diploma for each level.

Each level is independent, thus the candidate can directly apply to each exam according to his/her level./p>

Delfdalf    The DALF (French Language Developped Proficiency Diploma)

The DALF is an official diploma delivered by the French Department of State for Education for a life-time!

Why is it important to obtain the DALF ?

  • DALF has an international recognition
  • DALF will give you even greater opportunities on a professional level
  • DALF will enable you to reach a level in Secondary Education.

DALF covers the last 2 levels of French language proficiency which are C1 and C2 (see level chart) as the 4 skills in French language are as follows :

  • written expression
  • oral expression
  • reading comprehension
  • oral comprehension

A grade superior or equal to 50/100 is required to obtain the diploma for each level

C1 : 4h / C2 : 3H30

Tcf    The TCF

The TCF test is a certifying test. It evaluates the oral understanding, written and the mastery of the language structures. The candidates also have the possibility to take additional tests which estimate the oral and written expression.

Le TCF is for :

  • people who wish to evaluate their skills in french for personal, academic (study abroad for higher education) or professional reasons (TCF tout public)
  • for students who wish to join a 1st year of university to study abroad especially in France or join french architecture school (TCF pour la demande d'admission préalable - DAP)
  • for people who wish to obtain the french nationality by decree or marriage (TCF pour l'accès à la nationalité français - TCF ANF)
  • for people who wish to settle down durably and make an application for the permanant visa in Quebec (TCF pour le Québec)

En 2014 108 000 candidates took the TCF.
